Playboy of the Western World

April 2007

This poster was designed for my Advanced Graphic Design class under the direction of Tao Chen and Theatre Director Jamie Cheatham. The play was about an Irish boy that comes to a small town and tries to convince the people there that he killed his evil father with a shovel. They consider him a hero until the possibility arises that his father may not be so dead after all...

This poster design actually went through three or four revisions, to make the poster coincide with the theme of the play more closely. The title is meant to represent an old-timey pub sign, the background County Kerry, and the townspeople either forcing him out or celebrating his deed.
