The Eighth Semester

May 2008

When I started College, I started the tradition of burning a mix CD of my favorite music from the past semester. It gave me something to listen to in the car, but looking back, it serves as a nice way to look back at how my tastes in music changed over the years. Even more importantly, there's a lot of specific memories attached to those songs.

It only made sense, then, to make a "best of the best" compilation. Something I could look back at that would serve as a "time capsule" of my College career. This small project turned into a complex Independent Study project. I designed everything from the album art, to the CD labels, to the 24-page booklet. It includes track listings, info-graphics, and "approval ratings" by my friends and family.

After all the design work was done, I sent everything off to be printed, burned the CDs, and assembled the package into a very limited series of ten.
